Actor Tanuja, mother of Kajol, hospitalised in Mumbai – The Indian Express
Veteran actor Tanuja — mom to actor Kajol and mother-in-law of actor Ajay Devgn — has been admitted to a Mumbai hospital on Sunday night. Sources stated the 80-year-old actor has been admitted as a consequence of age-related sickness and is below remark on the ICU of a hospital within the metropolis’s Juhu.
“She is below remark and is doing effectively. There’s nothing to fret about,” a PTI report stated.
Daughter of filmmaker Kumarsen Samarth and actress Shobhna Samarth, Tanuja has labored extensively in Hindi and Bengali cinema. She married filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee; and have two daughters, actresses Kajol and Tanisha.
She began her movie profession along with her elder sister Nutan in Hamari Beti (1950) as a baby actor. As a number one girl, her first movie was Hamari Yaad Aayegi (1961). She went onto star in Baharein Phir Bhi Ayengi (1966), Jewel Thief (1969), Paisa Ya Pyaar (1969), Haathi Mere Saathi (1971) and Mere Jeevan Sathi (1972).
In Bengali cinema, she labored in movies resembling Deya Neya (1963), Anthony-Firingee (1967), Teen Bhuvaner Parey (1969) and Rajkumari (1970), amongst many others.
