Custody movie review highlights: Naga Chaitanya's cop drama is an interesting ride so far – Times of India
Director Venkat Prabhu of Maanadu fame groups up with Naga Chaitanya, Krithi Shetty and Arvind Swamy for the Telugu-Tamil bi-lingual movie Custody.
Shiva (Naga Chaitanya) is a honest police constable, the type who will cease a CM’s (Priyamani) convoy to let an ambulance cross. He has been in love with Revati (Krithi Shetty) all his life, and so they need to get married quickly. It causes points at her house and his office. One fateful evening he crosses paths with Raju (Arvind Swami), who prefers to be referred to as Raazu, and George (Sampath Raj). His life turns the wrong way up when his sincerity lands him in an enormous conspiracy.
The dialogues by Abburi Ravi and music by Ilaiyaraaja and Yuvan Shankar Raja help the movie nicely. In actual fact, in a scene with no dialogue, simply music is employed to showcase rising pressure which works nicely. SR Kathir’s cinematography is fairly fascinating and units the tone too. There’s an fascinating combat scene in a police station, and the camerawork there’s stellar.
The primary half of the movie initially takes its time establishing Shiva’s world. We’re handled to 2 songs and ample scenes that set up his life within the 90s. However as soon as Raju enters the fold, issues get so racy there’s virtually no time to suppose. The story is just not fully distinctive; nonetheless, it would not matter. With the interval making it clear that Shiva has 24 hours to perform one thing large, it stays to be seen if the second half will fare.
