Kannada, Marathi Films Among Nine Chosen For IFFI Debut Competition – FilmyVoice
Two Indian movies – director Sagar Puranik’s Kannada movie ‘Dollu’ and Vivek Rajendra Dubey’s Marathi movie ‘Funeral’ – are among the many 9 movies which have been shortlisted for the Debut competitors on the 52nd Worldwide Movie Pageant of India (IFFI).
Saying the line-up of movies for the Debut competitors on Saturday, the organisers of the movie competition, in an announcement mentioned that the competition had been a launch pad to a number of filmmakers over time and that this part was geared toward bringing out the most effective first-time filmmakers of the 12 months.
The seven different movies which have made it to the road up are director Ruben Sainz’s Spanish/Brazilian/Portuguese movie ‘Magoado’, director Arash Aneessee’s Iranian movie ‘Maman’, director Dimitris Kanellopoulos’s Greek movie ‘Pack of Sheep’, director Janno Jurgens’s Estonian/Russian movie ‘Rain’, director Laura Lehmus’s German movie ‘Candy Catastrophe’, director Simon Farriol’s Spanish movie ‘The Wealth of the World’ and director Mari Alessandrini’s movie ‘Mapudungun’.
Kannada movie ‘Dollu’, which options newcomers Karthik Mahesh and Nidhi Hegde within the lead, had gained the Dada Saheb Phalke Award for the Finest Kannada film on the Modern Worldwide Movie Pageant.
