Chennai, Nov 15 (IANS) The stand-off between the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), led by former Union minister Anbumani Ramadoss, and actor Suriya over the difficulty of the latter’s Tamil movie ‘Jai Bhim’ allegedly insulting the Vanniyar neighborhood escalated on Sunday when a bunch of PMK cadres pressured a theatre in Mayiladuthurai district to cease screening a Suriya movie.

Sources stated {that a} group of PMK cadres raised slogans exterior the Peerless theatre on Park Avenue Street that was screening ‘Vel’, a Suriya movie. The theatre administration pulled out the movie that was being screened.

The group, led by PMK’s Mayiladuthurai district secretary Panneerselvam, additionally submitted a petition to Mayiladuthurai Superintendent of Police, demanding motion in opposition to Suriya.

Talking to reporters, Pannerselvam, who stated that the PMK wouldn’t permit any Suriya movie to be screened in Mayiladuthurai, went on to announce a reward of Rs one lakh to anyone who assaults the actor when he visits the district.

Solely days in the past, a disagreement had erupted between Anbumani Ramadoss, who wrote a letter to Suriya, levelling allegations and demanding solutions. Suriya had on Thursday neatly responded in form, politely however firmly denying allegations and replying to all of the questions requested.
