Only a week earlier than his birthday, well-known Punjabi cine star, director and producer Mangal Dhillon, who was battling most cancers, handed away in a hospital in Ludhiana on Sunday. He was 48. Hailing from Faridkot in Punjab, Dhillon had made a mark on this planet of movies and serials.
He labored in Doordarshan and radio performs, apart from doing business voicing in New Delhi and Mumbai for couple of years.
In 1987 he acquired the position of Lubhaya Ram in Ramesh Sippy’s TV Serial ‘Buniyaad’, which laid his basis within the Mumbai movie and tv trade.
After ‘Buniyaad’ he labored in nearly 25-30 Hindi function movies and tv serials, outstanding amongst them had been ‘Yugandhar’, ‘Lakshman Rekha’, ‘Nishana’, ‘Vishvaatma’, ‘Khoon Bhari Mang’ and ‘Azad Desh Ke Ghulam’, apart from serials like ‘Junoon’, ‘Panther’, ‘Ghutan’, ‘Kismat’ and ‘Noorjahaan’.
Saddened over Dhillon’s demise, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Badal mentioned that it’s a large loss to the world of Indian cinema.
“His fascinating voice and theatrical shows will likely be missed by many. I prolong my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved household, pals and followers,” he tweeted.
