The triptych of tales exploring what’s and what might be is out on ZEE5. The anthology movie’s title roughly interprets into “tall tales”, with the invisible subhead “Full marks for braveness”. For brave are the tales suggesting that each one isn’t effectively within the superb Indian republic.
Essentially the most engrossing episode, Gurvinder Singh’s Dharna Mana Hai, makes intelligent use of Malayalam actor Nimisha Sajayan. She stars as Gomti, a Dalit sarpanch who has taken a public vow of silence to protest in opposition to the blocking of growth funds for her village. Gomti is accompanied in her revolt by her husband Debu (Jitendra Kumar).
Dharna Mana Hai is the newest milestone in Gurvinder Singh’s current journey from elliptical to narrative filmmaking. What may have labored properly as a full-length characteristic is crammed into a brief format.
But, the absurdity is on level. Essentially the most memorable efficiency is by Bhojpuri actor Sanjay Mahanand, who’s pleasant because the obsequious assistant to an detached bureaucrat.
Kaushik Ganguly’s Hud Hud Dabbang boldly reimagines the comedian genius Johnny Lever as a considerably critical man. Lever revels in a job wherein he’s not often, if ever, solid.
He performs Deelip, a police constable assigned to take an unnamed prisoner (Jisshu Sengupta) for his courtroom listening to. Deelip’s gun and Bullit bike provide the humour till it’s time to perceive what the prisoner has been accused of. Assembled in a jumpy method, the movie’s spotlight is Lever’s deep humanity.
It’s third time unfortunate for Bhaskar Hazarika’s Sanitized Samachar. The pandemic era-set story, led by Boloram Das, barely goes past its catchy title.
A tv community station that seems to be functioning out of a home comes up with what’s hoped to be a revenue-earning answer to beat the well being disaster. Maybe the amateurishness is the purpose, and maybe we haven’t understood no matter allegory/satire/message is being conveyed.
